Weymouth and Portland Residents are invited to have their say on improving the quality of life in the area as part of a new ‘working with you’ initiative. The Weymouth & Portland Partnership is holding a series of drop-in sessions as part of the project.

The first takes place at the Park Community Centre, Chelmsford Street, Weymouth on Friday 25 January from 11.30am to 1.30pm for Melcombe Regis  residents.

Kate Wheller, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Social Inclusion brief holder, said:

“These drop-in sessions are an opportunity for people in the borough to really change the area in which they live.

“It is important we get the views of residents at the sessions so we can build an action plan together and deliver improvements to the area so please come along.”

Anne Marie Vincent, Chair of Weymouth & Portland Partnership said:

“I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to come to our first ‘Working with You’ drop in session. With your contribution we can work more effectively together to make a difference to your community.”

The ‘Working with you’ project  aims to build an action plan of short, medium and long term projects to deliver a better quality of life for residents through:

  • Working more effectively with residents and promoting community and agency joint working
  • Improving communication between residents local groups and agencies
  • Agreeing and achieving local improvements

The Weymouth and Portland Partnership includes representatives from a wide range of organisations and community and voluntary groups, including Weymouth & Portland Borough Council.
