Rangers at Avon Heath Country Park are sending children searching for wholesome Easter
entertainment with egg hunts and trails.
Celebrating the opening of the new play area, the country park off the A31 near Ringwood, are running events throughout the Easter holidays to entertain youngsters and encourage them to explore the outdoors.
With Easter in mind and chocolate on offer, the Easter Egg trail takes place from 31 March to 15 April daily and costs just £2.80 per child. This price includes map sheets and clues as well as the chocolate eggs.
Trail sheets will be available from the Heathland Discovery Centre between 11am and 3pm from Saturday 31 March.
Crowds of youngsters made the most of the new sculptures in the play area at Avon Heath Country Park last weekend, revelling in the unseasonable warmth and enjoying clambering on the carved characters.
The sculptures, carved by artist Mark Vyvyan-Penney, show insects that are special to Avon Heath. A snake shaped sand pit is watched over by a bog bush cricket and a wasp spider. Other new carvings by the artist include a wishing chair and book seats, which proved very popular with the younger visitors.
